Job summary

Pets Choice Ltd is seeking a Packaging Buyer to source and secure packaging materials, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance in a fast-moving FMCG environment. You will collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain and Marketing to ensure cost, quality and supply meet business needs.

The role requires strong negotiation, supplier management and Excel/ERP proficiency, with an ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder expectations across our Blackburn operations.

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing or buying packaging experience, preferably within an FMCG environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Highly organised and detail oriented.
• Ability to work cross functionally.
• Results-driven with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially aware with excellent analytical abilities.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure service, quality, and delivery standards are maintained.
• Work with Quality, Supply Chain and Marketing teams to meet business needs.
• Monitor market trends to support strategic sourcing decisions
• Ensure continuity of supply by managing supplier risks, forecasting requirements, and developing contingency plans
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, specifications, and delivery schedules
• Ensure all packaging materials comply with relevant legislation, customer requirements, and quality standards
• Resolve supplier, quality, and supply issues in a timely and effective manner
• Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, product specifications, and procurement activities
