Job summary

Innovate seeks a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Contractor to cover FMCG/food & drink sites in the Peterborough area. You’ll join a pool of engineers, taking on assignments from fault-finding to planned maintenance across multiple clients, including nights and weekends during shutdowns.

Travel to client sites is expected, with a mix of short and longer projects. Essential qualifications include a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with NVQ Level 3 / HNC in mechanical or electrical disciplines,

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Experience in FMCG or food & drink manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of food hygiene with relevant certificates.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on high-speed production and packaging lines.
• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to client schedules.
• Supporting factory shutdowns, line changeovers and equipment installations.
• Working with PLCs, HMIs, inverters, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics and conveyors.
• Following site food safety, hygiene and allergen controls at all times.
• Completing job reports and maintenance records accurately.
• Working safely under permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.
