Job summary

Thrive Group in Frome, a busy FMCG manufacturing site, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will perform tests in Chemistry and Microbiology and support a fast-paced production environment. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will manage environmental swabs, sample retesting, and lab stock control.

The role offers a full-time position, 37.3 hours, and a competitive benefits package. Experience in a food or beverage lab and familiarity with LIMS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Carry out environmental and plant hygiene swabs and media preparation.
• Determine and act on non-conforming results with re-sampling and re-testing.
• Decide when and how samples need to be retested.
• Process requests for product release by email/telephone.
• Collate all out of spec results on the daily exception report.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tests in Chemistry and Microbiology labs.
• Manage daily environmental swabs and media prep.
• Escalate non-conforming results with re-testing.
• Support product release requests by email/phone.
• Maintain stock of lab consumables and report needs.
