Job summary

Elementa Support Services is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across Rhondda Cynon Taff secondary schools. The role offers full-time hours with part-time considered and September start, with competitive daily pay.

You'll lead pre-planned lessons, support inclusive learning, and work with individuals and small groups to boost achievement. Experience with ALN/SEND and strong classroom management are essential.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or substantial experience in a similar role
• UK school-based experience supporting teaching and learning
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Confidence leading whole-class learning
• EWC registration (or willing to obtain)
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same, but you'll be:

• Leading pre-planned lessons when teachers are absent

What we're looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• HLTA status or substantial experience in a similar role
• UK school-based experience supporting teaching and learning
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Confidence leading whole‑class learning
• EWC registration (or be happy to obtain it)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (we can help)

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience across KS1‑KS4
• Experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEND
• A flexible, proactive approach and a great sense of teamwork
