Job summary

High Cross in Swadlincote is seeking an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver/Yard Operative on a temp-to-perm basis. You will safely move heavy housebuilding products around the yard, support general site operations, and read metric measurements to ensure accurate handling and dispatch.

Shifts include fixed morning or afternoon hours, totaling 40 hours per week, with progression possible after training. A valid FLT Counterbalance certificate is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Valid and accredited FLT Counterbalance certificate
• Experience operating a counterbalance forklift
• Ability to work safely with heavy products
• Ability to read metric measurements (cm, mm)
• Flexibility to train on additional forklift types

Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift in the yard
• Move heavy housebuilding products and materials
• Pick orders and prepare products for dispatch
• Ensure work is completed safely to required quality standards
• Provide general support around the plant and yard
• Read measurements using metric system (cm, mm)
