Job summary

Barker Ross Group is recruiting for a FLT Counterbalance Driver in Wigston, LE18, to join a large international bakery producer. The role requires operating a Counterbalance forklift and handling stock in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will use ERP/WMS systems for stock control, maintain inventory accuracy, and work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern from 06:00 to 18:00. Immediate start for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Nationally accredited Counterbalance license is required.
• Experience operating a Counterbalance forklift preferred.
• Basic understanding of ERP/WMS systems for stock control.

Responsibilities

• Safely receive, store, and manage raw materials and finished goods using ERP/WMS systems, ensuring FIFO and accurate stock checks.
• Complete intake, dispatch, and returns documentation with traceability and compliance.
• Operate a Counterbalance FLT to store, dispatch, and place pallets safely in the warehouse.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse areas and follow health, safety, and environmental policies, including temperature monitoring for chilled/frozen goods.
• Collaborate with team, drivers, and other departments to support operations and drive continuous improvement.

Requisition Summary

Barker Ross is currently recruiting for an FLT Counterbalance Driver to work in an international food manufacturing company (bakery) based in the Wigston, LE18 area.

Our client has been developing bakery solutions for food service providers, retailers, and bakers for over 30 years. They operate in 20 countries around the world. They adapt their recipes and services to local traditions, eating habits and sales channels.

This role is an immediate start.

This role requires a national accredited Counterbalance license.

Pay rate

£14.33 to 15.83 per hour

Working hours

06:00 to 18:00 - 4 on 4 off

Duties

• Safely receive, store, and manage raw materials and finished goods using ERP/WMS systems, ensuring stock rotation (FIFO) and accurate inventory checks.
• Complete all required paperwork, including intake, dispatch, and returns handling, ensuring accurate traceability and compliance with company procedures.
• Operate a Counterbalance FLT to handle storage, dispatch, and ensure safe pallet placement in the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, complying with health, safety, and environmental policies, including temperature monitoring for chilled/frozen goods.
• Collaborate with the team, external drivers, and other departments to support smooth operations, elevate issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
