Durham County Council has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Floor Layer within Corporate Property and Land, Strategic Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance Team. The post holder will carry out floor laying duties and other related tasks as required by management.
Applicants should have proven floor laying experience in industrial/commercial settings, NVQ Level 2 or be willing to work towards it, and a basic command of Maths and English. A valid driving licence is required.

The post holder will carry out Floor Laying duties as required by the Roofing, Painting and Flooring Manager; and additional duties as required by the Strategic Facilities Management Team.

With a proven track record in floor laying, you will primarily be working in a busy repairs and maintenance section within Durham County Council establishments.
You may also be required to work on major Durham County Council construction projects carrying out floor laying.
Experience on maintenance and/or contractual projects in industrial and commercial buildings is desirable, along with the ability to:
The candidate must be educated in basic Maths and English; and have evoidence of commercial and domestic floor laying experience. You should have Floor Laying NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment.
Interviews are anticipated to be held (to be confirmed) at Meadowfield Depot.
