Job summary

Hull City Council is recruiting a Flood Risk Officer to join the Flood Risk Management Team. The role supports the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and works with the Living with Water partnership to enhance flood resilience across the city.

The post involves data management, GIS work, public engagement, and advisory input to planning on flood risk and SuDS. A strong understanding of relevant legislation and inter-organisational collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in planning, environmental science or related field.
• Experience with flood risk planning and partnership working preferred.
• Knowledge of GDPR and data protection obligations.

Responsibilities

• Support Flood Risk Planning Manager in developing Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
• Maintain accessible electronic filing system and ensure GDPR compliance.
• Maintain and update flood risk datasets and GIS data.
• Engage communities and stakeholders in Living with Water partnership activities.
• Advise on flood risk and SuDS during planning and development processes.
• Assist with communication and reporting to partners and requests.
