Hull City Council is seeking a Flood Risk Officer to support the Living with Water partnership and lead on flood risk management activities in Hull. The role involves collaboration with residents, schools, partners, and developers to deliver sustainable drainage solutions and community resilience.

You will work within the Flood Risk Management Team to develop strategy, maintain data systems, and provide expert advice on planning and drainage, while supporting delivery of long-term flood risk

Formación

• Experience in flood risk management or environmental planning is desirable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of GIS and data management is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret legislation and advise on planning and drainage issues.

Responsabilidades

• Support the Flood Risk Planning Manager in developing the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
• Maintain accessible electronic filing systems compliant with GDPR and data retention.
• Keep flood risk datasets and GIS information up to date; produce technical GIS data for queries.
• Engage communities and partners through public events and Living with Water activities.
• Provide guidance to planning sections and developers on flood risk and SuDS requirements.
