Job summary

My Client, a market leading Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is seeking a Flood Risk Modeller for their Birmingham team with alternative UK locations. You will design flood risk, natural flood management and drainage solutions for public and private sector clients across the UK.

The role involves flood risk assessments, ArcGIS mapping, SuDS strategies and hydraulic modelling using flood modeller and Tuflow, with hybrid working options from Birmingham, Bristol, Reading or London.

Qualifications

• Strong BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, Hydrology or Environmental Engineering.
• Experience with UK-based consultancies on flood risk assessments and drainage design.
• Experience in hydraulic modelling and drainage design using flood modeller or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Flood Risk Assessments for zones 1–3.
• Perform Flood Risk Mapping using ArcGIS.
• Develop SuDS strategies and drainage designs for various sectors.
• Carry out natural flood management planning and analysis.
• Lead and mentor team members on technical work.
• Participate in client meetings and report progress.

Alternative locations available in Bristol, London and Reading.

This exciting role will offer candidates the opportunity to join an innovative team who specialise in flood risk, hydrology and drainage engineering. You will design flood risk, natural flood management and drainage solutions for both public and private sector clients across the UK.

• Flood Risk Assessments for flood zone 1,2 and 3.
• Flood Risk Mapping using ArcGIS.
• SuDS Strategies.
• Hydraulic modelling using flood modeller and Tuflow.
• Design of sustainable drainage solutions for residential, commercial, healthcare, retail and educational projects.
• Natural flood management.
• Client meetings to discuss project progress.
• Support team members when needed.
