South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are seeking an engineer to join the specialist engineering team, focusing on land drainage and flood risk. The role blends technical design, project management, and liaison with planners, with a flexible hours system.

Qualificações

• Sound knowledge of the causes of flooding and drainage design and operation.
• Experience with AutoCAD or an equivalent drawing tool.
• Knowledge of Land Drainage Act 1991, Flood and Water Management Act 2010, CDM Regulations 2015 and NPPF.
• Good surveying practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to research concepts with minimal supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate flooding and advise on causes and prevention for the Lead Local Flood Authority.
• Carry out S19 flood investigations and write reports.
• Design flood alleviation schemes and manage their implementation.
• Develop long-term solutions to flooding and land drainage issues.
• Review planning applications for flood risk and drainage; advise planners.
• Prepare tender documents and contracts; manage capital funding.
• Collaborate with Environment Agency, Thames Water and emergency planning.
