Qualifications

  • Technical experience in flood risk legislation and planning standards.
  • Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes.

  • Relevant Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography or equivalent
  • Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc
  • Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards
  • Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes with the aim to secure Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) funding
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller TUFLOW) or drainage modelling software (MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles
  • Experience or an understanding of project management principles to achieve project delivery
  • Experience working with public sectors such as LLFA’s and/or EA
  • Experience of working on planning applications and awareness of LLFA duties
  • Experience working in client-facing environments and ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation
