- Relevant Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography or equivalent
- Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc
- Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards
- Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes with the aim to secure Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) funding
- Knowledge of hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller TUFLOW) or drainage modelling software (MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles
- Experience or an understanding of project management principles to achieve project delivery
- Experience working with public sectors such as LLFA’s and/or EA
- Experience of working on planning applications and awareness of LLFA duties
- Experience working in client-facing environments and ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A full UK driving licence
- Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation
