Job summary

Newport Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to join the float pool, working 12-hour night shifts. The position covers every 3rd weekend and every other holiday, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities include patient advocacy, planning and evaluating care, and collaboration with the health team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Qualified candidates will hold RI RN licensure, ADN with BSN preferred, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse in Rhode Island or eligible for RI licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and knowledge of Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per the nursing process and age-specific needs.
• Document nursing interventions and respond to deviations from care plans.
• Coordinate with health team; supervise LPNs/CNAs as required.
