Job summary

PortmanDentex in Southampton Orthodontic Centre is seeking a qualified nurse to join our specialist orthodontic team on a fixed-term basis.

You will support NHS and private patients, work alongside orthodontists and therapists, and have the opportunity to operate within nurse-led clinics, within your scope of practice.

Qualifications

• A recognised Dental Nursing qualification and active GDC registration.
• A positive and empathetic approach, with strong communication skills.
• A team player who thrives on providing great service and building relationships with colleagues and patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist Specialist Orthodontists in clinical procedures and chair-side care.
• Provide nursing support in nurse-led clinics and within your scope of practice.
• Maintain high standards of infection control and patient comfort throughout appointments.

• Typical shifts:Monday to Friday 8.30-5


• Competitive hourly rate from: £16.50


• 6 practices in the south, Chichester, North Baddesley, Lymington, Southampton, Southsea and Waterlooville (depending on the need in the practice)


• Specialist Orthodontic practice,caring for both NHS and private patients


• Modern and well-equippedsurgeries,working alongside Specialist Orthodontists and Therapists


• Opportunity to work independently within ournurse-led clinics, and fully within your scope of practice

About you

We’d love to receive your application to our Float Dental Nurse vacancy if you have the followingskills and experience:

• A recognised Dental Nursing qualification and active GDC registration

• Orthodontic experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
