Job summary

Lockheed Martin UK Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a Flight Simulation Engineer to maintain Synthetic Training Equipment (STE) at RAF Cranwell and Barkston Heath in support of MFTS operations. You will perform advanced fault isolation, repair, and preventive maintenance on simulators, host computers, display systems, and networks.

The role requires interpretation of schematics, strong electronics knowledge, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years Flight Simulator experience or transferable Aircraft Engineering experience.
• Ability to interpret schematics, drawings and electrical wire diagrams.
• Solid understanding of both digital and analogue electronic theories.
• Qualified in soldering techniques.
• Knowledgeable with test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Logic Analysers, Frequency Analysers, DVMs).
• Able to calibrate, install, maintain, repair and test flight simulators and associated equipment.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support of the Synthetic Training Equipment (STE) and related systems.
• Perform advanced fault isolation, repair and preventive maintenance on simulators and training systems.
• Conduct technical analysis of product implementations including reliability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend actions to stakeholders.
• Perform daily flight servicing to ensure STE availability for training programs.
• Carry out scheduled and corrective maintenance to meet performance objectives.
• Complete documentation to required QA standards.
