Optamor is seeking a Flight Simulation Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot Synthetic Training Equipment at RAF Cranwell/Barkston Heath in support of MFTS. You will perform advanced fault isolation, repairs, and daily servicing to ensure simulator availability, with documentation to QA standards.
The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong electronics skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends. Security clearance is required.

Lockheed Martin UK Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is a leading provider of training and logistics support for military customers. RMS is a key partner in delivering the Military Flying Training Service (MFTS). This role is located at RAF Cranwell and Barkston Heath in support of MFTS delivering Multi Engine, Elementary and Rear Crew flying training to Military students. Normal business will involve maintaining the simulators during the core working day. This can be either at RAF Cranwell or RAF Barkston Heath.
Provide maintenance support of the Synthetic Training Equipment (STE), and associated training equipment.
Perform advanced fault isolation, repair, operational checks, and preventive maintenance actions of simulators and associated training systems, to include host computers, visual display systems, electric control loading systems, computer networks, and associated electronic equipment.
Conduct technical analysis of product implementations to include reliability, maintainability and logistical analysis.
Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solutions
Comply with all Health and Safety Regulations and Quality Assurance plans and policies within the Synthetic Training Equipment environment.
Perform Daily Flight Servicing to ensure that Synthetic Training Equipment is available to meet the training programme.
Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance to ensure that Synthetic Training Equipment performance objectives are achieved.
When appropriate, carry out repairs to unserviceable equipment removed from the STE.
Provide support and assistance during Post Design Services (PDS) modifications.
Perform any other task which can reasonably be expected by the Simulator Site Manager.
Complete all documentation related to work carried out. Ensure that documentation is completed to the required standard, in order to comply with current company quality assurance standards.
