Job summary

SR2 is looking for a Flight Control Software Engineer for on-site work in Maidenhead. You’ll work on autopilot and flight-control systems, developing, integrating and tuning software across platforms such as ArduPilot, PX4 or Betaflight.

The role covers control-loop tuning, flight dynamics, sensor integration, state estimation and flight-data analysis to understand and improve aircraft behaviour. Strong flight-controls knowledge and hands-on UAV experience are valued; the team collaborates

Qualifications

• Experience with flight-control algorithms and PID tuning.
• C/C++ development within embedded or real-time systems.
• Experience with IMUs, GNSS and navigation sensors.
• Familiar with SITL/HITL, simulation and flight-test environments.
• Knowledge of MAVLink, CAN/DroneCAN or UAV protocols.
• Ability to analyse flight logs for improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and tune software across autopilot/flight-control systems.
• Work on sensors integration and state estimation.
• Analyse flight data to improve aircraft behaviour.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams onsite.
