Job summary

Centric Talent in Pershore, UK, is seeking an experienced flexographic printer to join our production team on a 6am-6pm, 4 on 4 off pattern. You will operate a wide web flexographic press, printing up to 8 colours on flexible plastic substrates and paper, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Key duties include maintaining press uptime, troubleshooting issues, training new starters, adhering to safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of flexographic print minimum 3-5 years.
• Knowledge of Lamination and Slitting processes.
• Experience of mounting process.
• Follow BRC Code of Practice.
• Good attention to detail and an ability to problem solve and work on own initiative.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement activity.

Responsibilities

• Safety must always be a prime consideration and you are required to ensure that the safety of people, the environment and our products are never compromised.
• Setting up and printing high quality designs up to 8 colours onto Flexible plastic substrates and paper.
• Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and productivity to make sure efficient day to day running of wide web flexographic printing press.
• Ensure that press speeds are optimised, maximising uptime and minimising downtime.
• Following an appropriate trouble shooting activity.
• Following an appropriate trouble shooting activity elevate maintenance issues.
• Pro-active approach so the print machine always runs smoothly; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess, evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify.
• Report issues to the Quality department that may affect output throughout the shift.
• Maintain good housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas – 5S auditing.
• Maintain stock levels of all necessary materials to fulfil the shift efficiently.
• Dealing with solvent- based inks.
• Have the experience and knowledge to provide support and training to any new starters or personnel.
• Responsible for basic maintenance and cleaning of print machinery.
• Comprehensive handover carried out after every shift.
