Job summary

Involve Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Machine Setter for our client in a manufacturing environment, focusing on the Flexo department to produce industrial conduits.

The role is hands-on and involves setting up and guiding the Flexo team to ensure on-time production, quality and safety. Shift patterns are discussed at interview; starting rate is £13.50 per hour with a 22% rotating-shift allowance, and the role is permanent.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Machine Setter or Setter/Operator in manufacturing.
• Ability to set up and adjust production machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Solid understanding of quality control and production standards.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to support and guide colleagues on the shop floor.
• Commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate production machinery within the Flexo department.
• Ensure machinery is configured correctly to manufacture conduits to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor production processes and maintain consistent product quality.
• Carry out routine machine checks and adjustments.
• Identify faults, investigate production issues and take appropriate corrective action.
• Perform product inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and practical support to team members.
• Help coordinate production activities and achieve operational targets.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality and machine performance.
