Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking flexible Teaching Assistants to work across schools in and around St Albans. Roles can be full-time or part-time, with placements tailored to your availability.

You will support pupils in classroom and one-to-one settings, assisting teachers to deliver learning activities and promote inclusive, positive learning environments. Ideal candidates will have experience with children or young people, strong behaviour management skills, and the ability to build trusting

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, patient and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in classroom and one-to-one settings.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Help create a calm and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement individual education plans.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour to teaching staff.
• Support pupils during transitions and break times.
