Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd. is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join a flexible pool for short-term and long-term placements across local schools in Totnes. You will support pupils with learning and inclusion, adapting to different classrooms and age groups.

This role offers weekly PAYE payments, opportunities to develop through training, and a commitment to safeguarding. Previous experience in schools and a can-do attitude are welcome, with a focus on creating a positive, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils in a school setting.
• Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with a range of needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
• Help implement behaviour strategies and support classroom management.
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff.
