Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a flexible Ad Hoc Teaching Assistant to support pupils across various school settings in the Plymouth area. You will assist teachers, support individual pupils and small groups, and help pupils access the curriculum while safeguarding is a priority.

The role offers variety across assignments, with responsibilities across break and lunchtimes and collaboration with SENCOs and pastoral staff. DBS checks are required and ongoing safeguarding training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children in school or similar setting.
• Experience with SEND or behavioural needs is advantageous.
• TA level qualifications are desirable but not essential if experience and skills match.
• Training and support may be provided for assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils across settings.
• Support individual pupils and small groups with learning.
• Assist pupils in accessing curriculum and activities.
• Provide feedback on engagement and behaviour to staff.
• Follow safeguarding policies and school guidelines.
• Adapt approach to pupil needs and school requirements.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff as needed.
