Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistants in Blackburn to support primary schools with flexible, short-term or long-term placements starting November or January. Join a network of welcoming schools across East Lancashire and benefit from reliable weekly pay and dedicated consultant support.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, SEN adaptations, working with teachers to prepare materials, and promoting wellbeing and classroom order.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or substantial primary classroom experience).
• Experience supporting primary-aged children in classrooms is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually (1:1) or in small focus groups to boost literacy, numeracy, and phonics confidence.
• Assist children with additional learning needs or SEN, adapting tasks to keep them engaged and included.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers to prepare learning materials, set up activities, and maintain an organized classroom.
• Act as a positive role model, fostering children's emotional well-being, resilience, and independence.
• Supervise break times, dining halls, and group transitions, ensuring a safe and supportive school environment.
• Provide useful feedback to teachers on individual pupil milestones and daily progress.
