Job summary

Premium Linguistic Services (PLS) is seeking friendly freelance Swahili interpreters to provide Face-to-Face interpreting in Glasgow. If you speak English and Swahili, we’d love to hear from you.

Attend in-person assignments, interpret conversations accurately and impartially, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. A formal interpreting qualification is not required.

This flexible freelance role lets you accept assignments based on availability across the Glasgow area.

Qualifications

• A formal interpreting qualification is not required.
• We welcome both qualified and non-qualified applicants; experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong language and communication skills are essential for professional interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, accurate and impartial interpretation.
• Attend Face-to-Face assignments at agreed locations and times.
• Convey the meaning and tone of conversations as accurately as possible.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Remain impartial and maintain professional boundaries.
• Communicate respectfully with everyone involved.
• Be punctual, reliable and prepared for assignments.
• Remain calm and professional, including during sensitive situations.
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct.
