Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting experienced teachers for general cover roles in Primary, Secondary and SEND schools across Sunderland, providing opportunities to work across a variety of subjects, Key Stages, and school settings.

As an experienced teacher delivering general cover, you will deliver lessons across multiple subjects, supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, maintain high standards of behaviour, and support learning across EYFS to KS5 or SEND settings, with

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Recent teaching experience in Primary, Secondary, SEND or alternative provision settings.
• Confidence delivering lessons in multiple subjects; general cover experience advantageous.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Eligible to work in the UK and DBS Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons across multiple subjects following existing schemes of work.
• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain high standards of student behaviour and engagement.
• Support learning across EYFS to KS2 (Primary), KS3 to KS5 (Secondary), or SEND/alternative provision settings.
• Assist with exam preparation, assessments, and classroom administration.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure smooth lesson handovers.
