Job summary

The Northam Care Trust is seeking a dedicated support worker to provide person-centred support for people with learning disabilities across registered care, homes, or community settings. The role emphasizes choice, independence and safeguarding, with duties including daily living support, advocacy, and access to community activities.

Applicants should be based in the UK and able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Passionate about making a difference for people with learning disabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Competent IT skills including Outlook & Word.
• Willingness to undertake training, sometimes outside normal hours.
• Willing and able to drive or travel between locations.
• Available for flexible patterns including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and nights.

Responsibilities

• Promote individuality and rights, independence, dignity and respect.
• Ensure safeguarding and report abuse incidents.
• Support people to express aspirations and develop skills.
• Help manage daily life activities and access services.
• Assist with personal care and medication as required.
• Maintain records with confidentiality.
