Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a proactive Shift Engineer (electrically biased) to join our site in the UK. The role covers responsive and preventative maintenance across production areas, with a focus on safe, efficient repairs and continuous improvement.

You will work on both electrical and mechanical tasks, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and H&S teams to meet KPIs and ensure safe working practices. A strong IPC mindset and hands-on experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
• Electrical and mechanical installation experience.
• Experience with PLC I/O diagnostics.
• FMCG environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for Reactive and Preventative Maintenance.
• Identify parts and equipment needed and manage stock levels.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical installations and repairs.
• Make informed decisions to address breakdowns and projects.
• Complete maintenance activities safely and to standard.
• Contribute to and close out relevant Engineering KPIs.
• Ensure safe system of work is risk assessed and applied.
• Work independently or with the Engineering, Manufacturing and H&S teams.
