Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a Service Accountant to lead budgeting and financial management, advising budget holders and ensuring robust financial controls across the Council. Responsibilities

• Produce budget reports and attend budget control meetings with clients.
• Collaborate with services to identify and escalate significant financial issues.
• Lead strategic meetings with management reporting and client departments.
• Ensure data security and accuracy within the Council's financial system.
• Support annual budget setting to reflect corporate objectives and timescales.
• Support final accounts and external reporting to standards.
• Assist major projects to ensure financial robustness.
• Deliver financial training to stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and development to Accounting staff.
