Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support a specialist school in Wolverhampton from the start of the new academic year. This role offers flexible work to fit around university studies or other commitments and provides valuable experience within a SEND environment.

You will work with trained teachers to support students with autism, ADHD, PMLD, SEMH and related needs, delivering small group interventions and 1:1 support in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Be patient, caring and adaptable.
• Can work effectively as part of a team and use initiative.
• Flexible availability across the academic year.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a 1:1 basis.
• Deliver small group interventions.
• Assist with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Support students with communication, social and emotional development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
