Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is advertising a Teaching Assistant role at Hornsea Community Primary School, Newbegin, Hornsea. The post is based in The Orchard Enhanced Resource Unit with some time in the main school, supporting pupils with SEN and holistic development.

Hours are 31.25 per week, 8.45am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only. The position runs on a fixed term until 31/08/27, with potential for secondments and safeguarding checks as part of recruitment.

Qualifications

• Highly skilled and experienced teaching assistant to work within a flexible role across the school.
• This will primarily include working within our Enhanced Resource Unit, The Orchard, and some time in the main school.
• You should support pupils with need for SEN and holistic pastoral care.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals or groups of children with various SEND in the mainstream classrooms.
• Supporting children who are accessing The Orchard as they are reintegrated back into their mainstream classrooms.
• Work over the lunchtime period supporting positive play for our more vulnerable pupils.
• Deliver appropriate interventions for children with a variety of abilities and needs.
