Job summary

Senploy is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to provide flexible day-to-day supply in specialist SEN schools around Canning Town and Newham. Roles suit university students, graduates, and those seeking experience in special education.

You will support pupils with various needs, including autism and complex behaviours, often in 1:1 or small groups, collaborating with teachers and SEN professionals.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring, energetic and confident personality.
• Genuine interest in supporting children with SEN.
• Previous SEN/childcare/youth work or support work experience desirable.
• Willingness to work in different SEN classrooms and settings.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supply cover within specialist SEN schools.
• Support pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, severe learning difficulties (SLD) and complex needs.
• Work with children who may be non-verbal or display challenging behaviour.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.
• Assist with communication, emotional regulation and life skills.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Work alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals.
