Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our flexible daily supply team in Canning Town and surrounding East London areas. You will provide day-to-day support in specialist SEN settings, helping pupils with autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.

This role is ideal for university students, graduates, or those seeking experience in education, offering flexible days, short-notice bookings, 1:1 and small-group support, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• A patient, caring, energetic and confident personality.
• A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN.
• Previous SEN, childcare, youth work or support work experience is desirable.
• Willingness to work in different SEN classrooms and settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supply cover within specialist SEN schools.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SLD and complex needs.
• Work with children who may be non-verbal or display challenging behaviour.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.
• Assist with communication, emotional regulation and life skills.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Work alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals.

The Role

• Support pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, severe learning difficulties (SLD) and complex needs.
• Work with children who may be non-verbal or display challenging behaviour.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.
• Assist with communication, emotional regulation and life skills.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Work alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals.
