Job summary

Teach Plus Limited are seeking an Ad Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant in Newham for flexible supply work across primary settings. You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or provide general classroom support as needs arise.

Previous UK school experience and experience with SEND are desirable. You will work with reliable, adaptable staff and follow school procedures while maintaining safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Previous UK school experience is desirable.
• Experience working with children with SEND is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
• Patient and nurturing approach.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective support to pupils with SEND.
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Assist pupils in accessing classroom learning.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Work alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Follow individual support plans and school procedures.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Promote independence and positive behaviour.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments.
• Maintain high safeguarding standards.
