Job summary

TipTopJob seeks adaptable SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply across Okehampton and West Devon. You will provide 1:1 or small-group support in mainstream primary schools, helping pupils with diverse needs.

Role involves adapting activities, using visual schedules and sensory tools to aid emotional regulation, and building pupil confidence and independence through close collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary-aged children with additional needs (ASD/SEMH/complex needs).
• DBS updated via Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Relevant TA qualifications or care/youth work background valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible 1:1 or small-group support to primary pupils.
• Adapt activities to match individual learning needs and styles.
• Use visual schedules and sensory tools to support regulation and engagement.
• Support pupil confidence, social communication, and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to maintain consistency.
