Job summary

Randstad UK in Cambridgeshire is seeking adaptable secondary teachers for day-to-day cover or long-term subject placements across KS3–KS5. We partner with local schools to deliver high-quality lessons and maintain strong pupil engagement.

You can choose day-to-day work with flexible scheduling or longer-term placements to build relationships, tailor schemes of work, and contribute to department goals. DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent is required.
• Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the Secondary National Curriculum and GCSE/ A-Level specs.
• Confident classroom presence with positive behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured secondary lessons across core and foundation subjects.
• Maintain a safe, purposeful learning environment using school-wide behaviour frameworks.
• Differentiate learning resources to engage all pupils, including those with SEND.
• For day-to-day cover: leave detailed handover notes for staff.
• For long-term placements: plan lessons, assess progress, and participate in department meetings.
