Cover People is seeking reliable secondary supply teachers to work across Stockport and surrounding schools. Immediate start with flexible day-to-day and short-term placements, matching you to assignments based on subject expertise, availability and school needs.

ECTS welcome, with QTS or recognised equivalent required. Expect engaging lessons, professional conduct, and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments; daily rates from £140 to £190, with holiday pay where applicable.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area.
• Experience teaching within a secondary school environment.
• Confidence to take responsibility for a classroom at short notice.
• Dependable and adaptable approach.
• Genuine commitment to pupil progress, safeguarding and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging and appropriately challenging lessons across the secondary age range.
• Follow lesson plans, curriculum requirements and individual school procedures.
• Establish clear expectations and maintain good classroom discipline.
• Adapt quickly to different schools, departments and groups of pupils.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to participate in learning.
• Liaise professionally with school staff throughout each assignment.
• Record relevant information or feedback following lessons where requested.
