Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a versatile General Cover Secondary Teacher to support schools across Cambridge and surrounding areas. Deliver pre-set work across Key Stage 3/4, adapt to diverse learning needs, and maintain high expectations while safeguarding pupil welfare.

Choose day-to-day or fixed-term placements with flexible schedules, weekly pay, and a dedicated local Randstad consultant to help place you in suitable schools. DBS checks and safeguarding are standard requirements.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK.
• Strong classroom management and ability to adapt to different schools.
• Evidence of flexibility to cover varied subjects and year groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with high expectations.
• Create a positive, safe classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
• Leave clear handover notes for regular teachers and adapt to SEND where needed.
• For long-term roles: plan, assess, and contribute to department activities.
