Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5-18 across Bath in specialist schools and mainstream settings. The role offers flexible part-time, 8:30am-3:30pm hours, and an immediate start, with 1:1 and small-group support under qualified teachers.

You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and social/emotional skills, and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom. DBS checks and compliance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, care, youth work or support setting is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
• Reliable and confident working as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs to access learning and engage with the curriculum.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support under the direction of the class teacher.
• Assist with classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and communication development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
