Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Ripon invites applications for a Relief Mobile Cook across our school kitchens. You will prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals, travel between sites, and support staff to maintain high standards of food safety. This role is term-time only, with no evenings or weekends, and offers mileage reimbursement and flexible hours.

Full driving license and access to a vehicle are required; prior kitchen experience is advantageous. Training will be provided on-site.

Qualifications

• Must have full driving license and access to a personal vehicle with business use insurance.
• Reliable and committed to delivering healthy, home-cooked meals.
• Able to travel between schools within Ripon and surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Travel within the area as directed by area management.
• Lead and support the team to deliver an effective catering service to high standards of food safety.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals to students and staff; set up and clear dining areas; wash up.
• Oversee kitchen duties such as supervision of staff, ordering food, stock checking and administration.
