North Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Relief Mobile Cook to support our school catering network in Ripon and surrounding areas. You will lead and assist teams to provide nutritious, home-cooked meals while upholding high food safety and service standards.

The role involves travel between schools, driving a personal vehicle with business use insurance, and shifts typically from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. It’s term-time only with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in school catering or similar food service settings.
• Ability to lead and support catering teams to high food-safety standards.
• Willingness to travel between schools within Ripon and surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the catering team to deliver meals to students and staff.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals; manage dining area and staff supervision.
• Travel between schools; handle stock, ordering and administration as needed.
