Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Sessional Recovery Motivator to support people affected by drug and alcohol misuse in Central Lancashire, across Preston, Chorley and Skelmersdale. This flexible sessional role offers zero-hours commitment with training and DBS checked work environment, allowing you to use lived experience to inspire recovery.

You will engage service users, signpost to appropriate support, and work with a team to promote wellbeing and community integration across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, non-judgemental and resilient.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming and supportive presence within service and community settings.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families, carers and local communities.
• Use lived experience to motivate and inspire others in recovery.
• Signpost individuals to appropriate treatment, recovery and community support services.
• Support development of peer support and mutual aid opportunities.
• Engage with individuals who may not currently access mainstream services.
• Promote recovery, wellbeing and community integration.
• Attend training, meetings and supervision as required.
• Maintain accurate records and work in accordance with safeguarding policies and professional boundaries.
