Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Alvaston, Allenton, Chellaston and the wider DE24 area from September 2026.

You'll work with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, assisting teachers, promoting positive learning and helping children make progress. Roles include day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term placements with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting children in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above.
• Ability to work one-to-one and with small groups.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and daily routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Help pupils access learning and make progress.
• Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.
