Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Allestree, Mackworth and the wider DE22 area from September 2026. With the new academic year fast approaching, schools are finalising their staffing and preparing for September.

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working alongside teachers to create positive learning environments, build confidence and help pupils achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting children in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.
• Confidence supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and daily classroom routines.
