Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support learning in Manchester schools from September. You'll work with teachers to deliver engaging activities, support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, and help create inclusive, positive learning environments.

This role offers flexible day-to-day and longer placements across trusted partner schools, with competitive rates and strong consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable.
• School or classroom experience is advantageous but not essential.
• A genuine passion for working with children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Confidence supporting pupils individually and in groups.
• Understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Reliable and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in delivering engaging classroom activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support.
• Assist pupils with their classwork and understanding.
• Support children with SEND and individual learning needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Help maintain a welcoming and organised classroom.
• Prepare and organise learning resources.
• Promote pupils' independence and confidence.
• Support pupil wellbeing and pastoral needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
