Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking a flexible Personal Assistant in Colchester to support a client in engaging with the local community and attending appointments. The role involves accompanying to events, providing companionship, and helping maintain independence in a caring, trustworthy manner.

Key duties include personal care prompts, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, shopping, and supporting social activities. DBS disclosure is required and costs are covered.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care is beneficial.
• Able to build trust and maintain boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care (toileting, showering, dressing).
• Assist with cooking and meal preparation.
• Prompt to take medications.
• Help with household tasks and homemaking.
• Attend appointments or accompany to activities as needed.
• Assist with shopping and transportation to activities.
• Encourage socialisation and participation in community activities.
• Develop a friendly, one-to-one working relationship.
• Support with paperwork and correspondence.
• Assist with gardening.
