Job summary

Asda in Bridge Of Dee is seeking an Optical Colleague to support eye care services in-store. This part-time, permanent role involves preparing patients for eye examinations, assisting opticians and dispensing spectacles.

You’ll work days with a 20.25 hour week at £13.10 per hour. Training options include the Asda Optical Step In programme or the Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship, with clear progression to dispensing optician roles.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and pass enhanced safeguarding checks.
• Flexibility to work late and weekends as required.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations and explain test steps.
• Perform pre-screening examinations and book appointments.
• Dispense spectacles and contact lenses, and handle repairs.
• Ensure stock is received by suppliers.
• Participate in training to become a dispensing optical colleague.
