Job summary

Asda Stores Ltd is hiring an Optical Colleague in Greenhithe for a 16-hour week in a part‑time, permanent role. You’ll prepare patients for eye tests, dispense glasses and contact lenses, and assist with repairs while supporting customers with a friendly, professional approach.

Full training is provided, with opportunities to progress within Asda Opticians and pursue related apprenticeship routes, depending on location and entry requirements. Flexible shift patterns and weekend work are noted.

Qualifications

• Friendly and well organised, able to work with a team.
• Confident discussing ocular health issues with customers.
• Strong problem solving and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations and explain test steps.
• Complete pre-screening examinations and book appointments.
• Dispense spectacles and contact lenses as required.
• Handle repairs and adjustments and manage stock receipts.
• Learn the Asda Optical training programme or Level 3 Apprenticeship.
