Job summary

Hestia is seeking a flexible Cover Nursery Cook to support three London nurseries—Royal Docks, Nine Elms, and the Royal Docks further locations—during holiday and sickness cover. The role involves cooking from a rotating seasonal menu, maintaining kitchen safety and hygiene, and assisting the nursery team as needed.

The position offers around 15 weeks of work per year at £16 per hour, with paid training, holiday pay, and a company pension when eligible.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability to cover holidays and sickness
• Ability to cater for allergies and dietary needs
• Experience with basic kitchen safety and cleanliness

Responsibilities

• Cook breakfasts, lunches, teas and snacks from seasonal menu
• Cater safely for allergies in nut-free kitchens
• Keep kitchen clean and compliant with safety standards
• Manage stock and deliveries during cover shifts
• Collaborate with nursery team and assist children with simple baking
