Job summary

A&I Autos in Stonehaven, Scotland, is looking for a skilled mechanic to join our busy workshop. You will maintain and repair a varied fleet, including our own vehicles and customers' cars, with the option to work toward MOT testing.

We offer genuinely flexible hours and holidays, funded training to progress to MOT testing, free on-site parking, quality tools, and a supportive local team with year‑round work in a business that has served the community since 1985.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Confident with power tools, hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Reliable, with great attention to detail, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred; PCV (category D) licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance across a varied fleet of vehicles.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and carrying out repairs.
• Inspecting vehicles to identify worn or damaged parts before they become problems.
• Using diagnostic equipment, power tools and hand tools effectively.
• Keeping accurate service and repair records in our workshop system.
• Carrying out MOT testing, or training towards it, if that interests you.
