Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner Nursery Nurses to join our Maternity and Neonatal Bank. You will work across maternity and neonatal services delivering hands-on care to babies and families, under supervision of registered staff.

We value compassionate care, flexible working across shifts, and development opportunities within a large NHS trust serving Swansea Bay. Welsh language skills are welcome and supported in our inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring/healthcare settings is essential.
• Able to communicate with babies, families and colleagues with empathy.
• Understanding basic physiology and vital signs within care tasks.
• Ability to organise tasks and work within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care to babies and families under supervision.
• Support infant feeding including breastfeeding or expressing milk.
• Monitor and record observations and changes in baby condition.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
• Contribute to a welcoming, safe environment for babies and families.
